I'm not sure what's gotten into me, but during one of my internet breaks today I did a little sprucing up of my Facebook friends list. I've wanted to knock the list down for awhile but didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings. How silly is that?! So I finally just bit the bullet. If I hadn't recently interacted with someone I deleted them. It was kind of liberating in a funny sort of way. (And I'm pretty sure that 99% of the people I deleted will never realize I did so. There was no drama involved.)
I am not a minimalist by nature, but I have started to feel a little closed in by the clutter in my life. I think this is a good thing--maybe I can get rid of some of the mind clutter by clearing out the material clutter. (Not that I'm dealing with some kind of hoarding issue or anything; it's just ridiculously easy for a family of six to accumulate a bunch of unnecessary crap!) Clearing out the mind clutter may help me with the weight loss efforts--which are not going so swimmingly right now.
Does your organizational level have an effect on your mental status? Do you find yourself getting edgy when things get messy?
ABSOLUTELY! There is nothing that puts me in a better mood than a clean and organized house! I do pretty well keeping things clean on the surface, but there are areas of my house that piles get created and that drives me crazy. I cannot wait to open the house up and purge this spring! I will behaving a ridiculous garage sale. As it is however, there is snow predicted-- again.
ReplyDeleteI love how the moms start spring cleaning early. LOL! I hate it, but...necessary evil! I HATE clutter and, with two really little boys in the house, there's a lot of it all over the place. I wish I could just lift up a corner of the house and sweep everything under it. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to get started on the spring cleaning/pre move purge. Ugh...SO NOT looking forward to it!
